Welcome to Gear Heaven. My name is Matt Froelich, and I have been a fan of the guitar since I was young. I believe that effects pedals are a fun and exciting way for guitar players of any skill level to explore their own unique sound. Pedals are by no means a substitute for good playing, but they offer a way for players to find their niche as artists, see the notes they are playing in a different light, and explore the depths of their creativity.
A lot of players out there like to act like effects pedals are rocket science. They are not. Even though so many different pedal options have become available to us since the boutique pedal craze began; many of these pedals do similar things. Each player's style differs in subtle but specific ways so this works out nicely. The purpose of this blog is to get the truly intriguing pedals on your radar, and hopefully inform you about the ones that could enrich your playing.
